How:

Journal for History! Chanel your inner Anne Frank and become a historian for the year 2020. Starting on March 30, 2020 create a handwritten journal. Every day write an entry that details what you are seeing in the news, how the world, how our nation, how your friends, neighbours, and family are responding to this pandemic.

  • Add poetry, sketches, photographs, etc. to enhance your primary source for the future! It can be used to learn about our lives during this crisis from your unique perspective. Be reflective. Be authentic. Be honest.

  • Share your thinking using Padlet, Prezi, Smore, Canva, Twitter, or on another social media platform.

Get Inspired about writing. Keep a writer’s notebook of your musings, ideas, reflections of the world, or what you are reading.

Youth Stories: Share your stories about the impact of COVID-19 on you, your family, and/or your community. Read the stories of youth from around Canada. Check out the forum from May 18th hosted by Silken Laumann.

What do you miss?

What makes you sad?

What do you think the adults should know about how they can make things better for you?

What have you been doing to make yourself happy during COVID?

What is the first thing you are going to do when COVID ends?

Why:

Writing clarifies your thinking and develops your voice to convey important messages.
